Nesting Table Installation at Local School | Hoffman

Recently, we at Hoffman Office Supply were tasked by a local school to provide tables in three different areas each meeting different needs. One was a meeting room, another was an academic classroom, and the third was a FACS room.

Nesting meeting room tables in a “U” configuration

First, we have the meeting room. Since many different groups would potentially be meeting here, the ability to change the configuration of the tables and store unused tables was essential. In order to provide this versatility, we went with nesting tables from Tablex. We also selected bases for these tables that come with casters so the tables easily roll into and out of configurations in seconds for each user that needs to change it. These tables have the chrome base with the tabletops outfitted with the Pewter-brush laminate. We installed 32 tables in this room and though only 11 are open, all are in this picture. As you can see, the nesting feature drastically reduces the space each table occupies.

Classroom tables configured in a custom layout.

Next, we have the academic classroom. The customer asked for a semi-permanent configuration of tables to serve as student desks in a classroom setting. Initially we had a different product destined for this area, but after hearing of the versatility of the Tablex nesting tables and the ability to lock the casters in place, the decision was made to go with the same tables that the meeting room had. This classroom had 84 tables to install and place. If ever the client needs to change the direction of the classroom for any reason, such as an additional whiteboard or tv or guest speaker, the tables could be moved in less than 10 minutes to accommodate it. The same chrome base with pewter-brush laminate top was selected for this room as well.

FACS butcher block tables and Jasper Group chairs

Finally, we had to provide the stools for the FACS room and also two tables for the center of the room. Since these tables would see cutting and other processes not normally seen on a standard table, a butcher block table from Tablex was selected to protect the table from these forces. Seen here, these tables are much thicker than your standard table, and are treated with an ultraviolet light-cured finish to withstand solvents and cuts. Because of the added weight, a special base is included with the tops to support it. The one shown here is also equipped with lockable casters. For the stools we selected a Jasper Group product called Kyla. They provided a place to sit when not engaged in an activity, but are easy to move out of the way when standing.

All together this project included 118 tables and 36 stools. From arrival to final departure, it took our crew 3 days. With all Hoffman furniture installations, Trash removal is included at no additional cost. Please contact us if you have a need for anything you’ve seen here.
