June 2015 Furniture installation | Hoffman

It has been a very busy second quarter for us here at Hoffman Office Supply.  It has been a while since we had the time and the pictures to write about the furniture side of our business, but we have something new for you!  This particular client approached us about furnishing an entire wing of their marketing division, including 4 offices, a reception area, and a conference room.  Because of the nature of the marketing profession we were able to come up with some interesting designs that have a little more personality than a standard arrangement.

confroomThe conference room was centered around a 96 by 36 inch Tablex table.  The top was purchased in a Wilsonart Brushed Pewter laminate which immediately brought personality to the room.  The chairs were made by KFI industries and boast a metal base with a blue fabric seat and a hard plastic back.  We took two 22 inch high lateral files made by Indiana Furniture with wood-grained  mocha laminate, and attach a cushioned top to create more seating area with added storage underfoot.  The tabletop left enough stace in the conference room for presentation tools while still seating 10 comfortably.

In three of the offices we took two white laminate tops, attached two wood-grained mocha laminate pedestals as well as one end panel, and added a half height acrylic modesty panel to create the desks pictured here.  By using the white top with the wood-grained laminate, the functionality of a standard desk is preserved, but the flair and wow factor is created by the contrast between the  contemporary top and traditional pedestal.  Adding the half-height acrylic modesty panel finishes the character that we were going for.  The offices also have two guest chairs.  All of the items in these 3 offices were produced by National Office Furniture.

The director’s office has a standard desk with a twist.  Both the return and desk have a curved area on the user’s side of the desk, creating a cockpit feel.  The desk has a pedestal and modesty panel made of wood-grained mocha laminate, and instead of the standard pedestal in the return, we used a lateral file with dual handles to increase the below-desk storage space.  Above the desk we added wall-mounted overheads with framed acrylic doors and a tack board.  This feature further increases the storage space of the Director while adding more character to the arrangement.  We finished the office with two guest chairs.  All items in this office were also made by National Office Furniture.

receptionIn the reception area we used a suspended pedestal desk in a box-file arrangement and lined it up with the break in the entranceway so it is the first thing a potential client or customer sees.  On top of the desk we added a riser made of the same wood-grained laminate and finished in the same mocha as the desk.  The riser hides any sensitive material the receptionist may be working on when a customer comes in.  The riser also can act as a transaction counter for customer sign ins or payments.  The task chair was created by National Office Furniture, while the desk and riser were produced by Indiana Furniture.

Not pictured was a 36 inch round table assembled and utilized in the break room, as well as 4 Versteel chairs.  Built by Tablex, the table is small enough to allow room for the 4 chairs, while also having enough useable space to accommodate 4 occupants.

From arrival to trash removal and office cleaning, this installation took us 7 hours.  The client for this installation collaborated with us early on both the functionality and the style she was looking for.  Because of this we were able to come up with some interesting designs that we are both proud of.  If you have an upcoming furniture need, contact us as soon as you can and let us start working on what will best fit your needs!
